The EBSP maintains a variety of trails around the Echo Lakes Sno-Park and Becker Peak. However, some of these trails were impacted during the Caldor Fire. it is a goal of the patrol to have these trails re-established in 2025.
There are a number of popular backcountry ski routes west of Echo Lakes and above Ice House Road, including Pyramid Peak and Ralston Peak. The EBSP and Eldorado National Forest do not maintain marked trails in this area, though we sometimes patrol these routes, reporting incidents and snowpack information to the Sierra Avalanche Center. If recreating in this area, please respect all CalTrans parking signs, snow removal equipment, private property, and always check route information and avalanche forecast.
